Dr. Derek CLARKE

Doctor Derek Clarke comes from South Africa.

He serves as the Chief Director of Survey and Mapping & National Geospatial Information at the Department of Land Affairs in South Africa. He is also a Vice-President of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and his liasions are Geoinformation Infrastructures and Standards, Map Production and Geo-business and Use and User Issues.

His main interests are the implication of map literacy and development planning. He also plas an important role in popularising the concept of „mapping Africa for Africa“ in the whole continent.
