Doctor David Forrest comes from Scotland.

He is currently working as a Senior Teacher at the University of Glasgow at School of Geographical and Earth Sciences. He is also a Vice-Chairman of the Commision on Use and User Issues of the International Cartographic Association (ICA).

He mainly focuses on the improvement of usability of GIS to help non-cartographers design and produce sensible maps. He is also interested in the content and design of topographic maps (especially at medium scales), the production of public transport maps and the use of maps in mobile GPS.
