Prof. Georg GARTNER
Professor Georg Gartner (*1966) comes from Austria.
He is currently working as a professor of cartography at the Institute of Geoinformation and Cartography of the University of Technology in Vienna, Austria.
He holds graduate qualifications in geography and cartography from the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. He is also a dean for study affairs in geodesy and geoinformation at the Vienna University of Technology.
Professor Gartner is a President of the International Cartographic Association. He also serves as a member of the Executive Board of the Austrian Geographic Society.
In the ICA his main interest lays in fields of maps in connection to the Internet, mountain cartography and open-source geospatial technologies.
